Effective November 1st, 2014, New York stat is imposing tougher penalties on drivers who use mobile phones while driving. Young drivers under the age of 21 who are caught using their mobile phone to text or talk without a hands-free device will face a 120-day licsnes suspension. A second offense will result in a 1 year suspension.

All drivers will see an increase in the fine from $150.00 to $200.00 for the fist offense and $200.00 for a 2nd offense within 18 months.
